"Akro Agate PRIZE NAME". This is probably the standard for not only the Akro Agate Corkscrews, It is one of the most collected of all marbles when us senior kids started collecting, and even for new collectors alike, almost everone has at one time or another had a PRIZE NAME in their collection. So, a very prominant position in the important history of our, what, will "hobby" work for what we do?
The basic two streams of glass spun around each other with almost mathematical precision. These, face it, rather "dull", some of them; but these, are the ones that were included in almost all of the boxes that were sold, so if you're trying to build a legitimate box, you may find that to be a bit difficult. Ironically, even though more of these two color corkscrews were made, it seems that those were the ones that got played with. Leaving very few of them in original mint condition, as you would want them in your box. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.8 WET MINT! I can find no flaws on the wonderful wet, shiny surface of this marble.
