Deep dark translucent purple base glass with the defining feathered white opaque swirls shows this to be a Peltier Glass Company NATIONAL ONYX. The NATIONAL ONYX was the name under which Peltier marketed these marble types, but collectors generally refer to them as Peltier Slags.
At just under 11/16", this one is a little larger than most of the type, and not near as easy to find this color as formerly. CONDITION: MINT After receiving some flack about the difference in number grading, I'm just going to describe the condition and leave the number grading up to you. The surface is wet and shiny with no sign of play or wear. All I can find with a bright light and lens, are two tiny, pinprick size, open air bubbles--visible in the first and fifth pictures. That's it. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.02mm or 0.670" at the equator. | |||||
