Gorgeous, exceptionally bright, red and yellow bands run from pole to pole surrounding a well designed tight lattice web at the core of this, what collectors call, LATTICINIO Swirl. From the two unfinished pontail marks, the manufacture date can be determined to be sometime during the later era of German handmade glass making marbles; Furthermore, the unusually bright colors and clear base glass, and size, this is one of those produced for the game boards that were very popular during this period and earned them the name of ENGLISH STYLE.
CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.8 or better. The surface of this piece is PRISTINE. It's as if the marble hadn't been touched since the day it left the factory. A true MUSEUM QUALITY marble. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 14.59mm or 0.574" at the equator. | |||||
