A crystal clear base glass with opposing powder blue bands separating two opposing white-edged, golden, lutz bands, and measuring slightly less than 7/8", this is one of the larger of type II Banded Lutz marbles made near the end of the 19th century and into the early 20th, circa 1890-1910 and later.
Nearly all collectors enjoy the sparkling goldstone, lutz, displayed on the surface of these gorgeous marbles. In some cases, the collecting of lutz marbles is their primary, if not only, objective. Their high desirability has caused a shortage of lutz-style marbles, especially in the quest for those in this high mint condition. CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is wet and shiny with just the slightest whisper of wear only seen with the ade of bright lighting and 10x jeweler's loupe.
