PRESENTING, from the Peltier Glass Company's first marble manufacturing machine, the infamous "MILLER": the "HYBRID K&M/LIBERTY." A bit of a grandiose introduction, but well deserved because of this marble's unique personality, including color, design, size, and condition.
Most MILLER machine output was transparent glass with only a few opaque. The combination of red and yellow on an opaque white base glass describes the Peltier KETCHUP and MUSTARD. Red and blue ribbons on that same white base glass make up the well-known LIBERTY. With both of these definitions on the same marble, we have, as the title says, a HYBRID K&M/LIBERTY. The production of shooter-size marbles was severely limited. The diameter of this example measures 23/32", indeed SHOOTER size. So, we have shooter-sized Miller machine marble with red, yellow, and blue swirls on an opaque white base glass. It appears we have covered the rarity of this marble from all points, but the icing on the cake is the beautiful mint condition of this 100-year-old sweetheart. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is exceptionally glossy wet, and shiny, with absolutely no sign of wear of any kind. There are some creases at the joining of colors and a few tiny melted dimples from collapsed near-surface air bubbles. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 18.21mm or 0.716" at the equator. | |||||
