Six evenly spaced colorful bands decorate the surface of this enormous, 1-5/16" German handmade marble from the nineteenth century. A well-designed web of alternating yellow and white lattice lines resides at the core of the transparent base glass. With the basal pontail mark unfinished and the other melted into oblivion, we can determine the manufacture date as the later Victorian era, circa 1880-1910.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT(+) The surface has a glossy wet look, and there is only a slight amount of wear. Both pontail marks are as clean as the day they left the factory. The only signs of use are a few scattered sub-surface fingernail-like reflections. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 33.93mm or 1.336" at the equator. | |||||
