Uranium oxide was used in glass to enhance and intensify the color. An added attraction was that exposure to UV lighting would cause a bright fluorescent green glow. These products are often known as Vaseline glass.
Include this Christensen Agate Co. GREEN SLAG in any group of transparent green marbles, and this gem will shine above all others, even without exposure to a UV light. Add a UV light, and it seems to jump out at you, a brilliant fluorescent green orb. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The surface is wet and shiny looking, and there is no sign of wear at all. After repeated inspections, all I can find is a pinprick too tiny for my camera to capture. With no signs of play or handling, I have concluded that it left the factory like that. It should show just above the seam and to the far left in the second picture, but it's too small. While rotating the marble under a bright light, a little sparkle reflection appears and disappears.
