The Akro Agate Ade family of marbles: each member is named for the color of the corkscrew, or swirl, on the Vaseline base glass used for the family, which glows a bright green hue when exposed to an Ulra-Violet (UV) light. Colors include egg yolk yellow for a Lemonade, sea-green for a Limeade, Orange for an Orangeade, etc.
For this example, the yellow corkscrew also has bright red applied to its edges. As with Popeyes and other HYBRIDs, the extra color was probably the result of a color change during an active run. The outcome is a HYBRID LEMONADE/CHERRYADE corkscrew. While I have seen each of the ADE marbles represented by these oversized shooters, they are far from commonplace. Furthermore, a marble this old and in this fine condition is always rare and the object of collectors. CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is wet and shiny. I can find no evidence of any wear at all. Close inspection does show a small cluster of microscopic pinpoints that should be present in the first picture but are just too insignificant for my camera to capture.
