Forest green and egg-yolk yellow corkscrews traverse a crystal clear base glass nearly filled with the wispy opaque white strands that define an Akro Agate POPEYE. The wispy strands also overlap into the dark green for a stark contrast and pleasing effect.
Popeyes measuring 0.750 (3/4") are scarce; this 0.767" reading is quite sizable for a Popeye and not likely to be found available at all. But,what better to bring a twinkle to a collector's eye than a 100-year-old marble in glossy wet new-looking condition? CONDITION: MINT 9.6 The surface is glossy wet, and shiny with no signs of handling whatever. I had to use magnification to find the couple of tiny pinprick-sized as-mades I found: one shown at the seven o'clock position in the third picture and the other near the bottom of the fifth.
