Two completely separate white corkscrews snake their way twice around a transparent ice blue base glass. Both the base glass and the white corkscrews are UV reactive. Neither shows the bright green glow associated with uranium oxide, but the transparent ice blue turns white, and the white corkscrews turn whiter yet.
Collectors have long been referring to the transparent colored base glass with white corkscrews as the Akro Agate ONYX. You can find them in every transparent color available to the Akro Agate palette, and in every configuration of corkscrew, Akro made. CONDITION: NEAR MINT(++) The surface is wet and shiny, showing no signs of play or wear. Close examination with a lens shows some microscopic wear that is invisible without magnification. A couple of subsurface sparkles show up and disappear as you rotate the marble under a bright light. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 17.47mm or 0.688" at the equator. | |||||
