The base glass is crystal clear in the manner of English Style marbles. Four ribbons composed of yellow lattice lines reside directly below the surface. A delightful cloverleaf pinwheel can be seen when the marble is viewed from the pontail ends--fifth and sixth pictures. The center appears to be a solid white core with four evenly spaced colored bands on its face. Not quite! Four colored ribbons: (amethyst jelly, blue, and two red) provide separation between the four white ribbons and furnish a grand imitation of a Banded Solid Core Swirl. By attaching all the panels, a solid core is effectively formed. However, in this instance, some panels didn't get attached. Observe the second and fourth pictures. The inside of the "solid core" can be seen through spaces of detachment between the blue and white panels, shown in the second image, and red and white panels in the fourth. I'm not quite sure how that affects the description or the value, but there it is. CONDITION: MINT(-) The shine is brilliant and wet-looking with no sign of play or use of any kind. However, two or three tool marks, clearly as-made, mar the perfection of the surface reflection. You may click here to view the grading system I use. Size 20.27mm or 0.798" at the equator. | |||||
