One of the most popular two-color Popeyes that Akro Agate ever produced is the Red and Blue. A cobalt blue and two lipstick red corkscrews only leave enough space, just barely, to view the clear-based marble they are riding. The Popeye-defining wispy white threads are hovering just beneath and next to the surface.
These, like just about everything else, are getting to be so hard to find that I sometimes wonder if there are any left. Even the more seasoned collectors have difficulty providing these celebrated Red and Blue Popeyes, especially those in this beautiful high mint condition. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 or better. The shine is glossy wet with no sign of play or wear of any kind. Close inspection reveals only two or three light reflections that are not the result of any impact I can determine.
