DESCRIPTION:I really like this marble. There are so many unusual features going on with it.
The Ridged Solid Core Swirl is an uncommonly rare marble. I have seen them occasionally at auction, but not many nor very often. I am satisfied that not many were ever produced, or very few survived until the present.
The striking, brilliant red-orange lines accent the snow-white valleys between the ridges. While not adding to the scarcity of the Ridged Solid Core Swirl, they aesthetically command the viewer's attention, drawing the eye for close reflection rather than a mere casual glance. I have only seen aventurine in these Solid Core marbles once or twice in all my years collecting marbles. This is one of those times. Not much reverie is needed to notice the translucent green sparkling aventurine ribbons ride the peaks of all three ridges from top to bottom. And this does indeed increase the rarity of an already quite rare marble. CONDITION: NEAR MINT(+) The pontail marks, shown in the fifth and sixth pictures, are pristine, exhibiting no evidence of having ever been touched. The rest of the marble presents as mint to the naked eye, but some very light wear and three tiny factory-produced pinpricks can be seen when viewed with a lens and bright lighting.
