DESCRIPTION: This is one of Peltier's most memorable contributions to the world of marble collecting, the Comic Picture Marble.
Peltier printed one of 12 of the King syndicated comic strip characters on a variety of Peltier Peerless Patches. This one is a mustard yellow marble with a pea-green patch. The character chosen for this example was "MOON" Mullins, now one of the series most challenging to attain. Nearly all "MOON" marbles used the yellow and green combination. Occasionally, a few were printed on marbles of a different color, but they are exceedingly rare and command premium prices. CONDITION: MINT 9.4-9.5 The strike is strong and well-positioned, and there are no signs of use or handling. With magnification, I was able to find a couple of faint touch marks, but there is no damage at all. As with many marbles of the series, the biggest issue is the collateral graphite splatter to the area surrounding the image. This one is a bit better than most.
