DESCRIPTION: I realize that this red and yellow combination is among some of the most common of the Popeye corkscrews produced, but they are still some of my favorites. The contrast composed of the darker, though remarkably bright, red against the quieter yellow is unrivaled for focusing attention to itself.
Another unusual feature of this specimen is how, when viewed from one pole, the marble appears the be primarily red with some yellow. Then, when seen from the other pole, it appears to be predominantly yellow with a touch of red. CONDITION: MINT(+) 9.7 The glossy wet shiny-looking surface only has the impressions made from some interior bubbles that have risen too close to the surface and collapsed, leaving melted dimples in their place.
